|The Fusion History pages explore my ideas and thoughts on the concept of 'fusion history'.
At its simplest, 'fusion history' refers to the histories of people, societies and cultures that are conscious of, and identify to some degree with, mixed race or multi ethnic or inter-communal origins. It also covers concepts and frameworks for thinking about, living with and celebrating such identities. These are identities that may have always known of, or which have only recently been (re)discovered.
The What is Fusion History? page has a constantly evolving discussion and exploration of the ideas that feed into the concept of 'fusion'.
The Fusion History: Principles and Projects page contains a developing charter or manifesto for fusion history expressed through a provisional set of principles and research projects.
The Historical Fusions page contains a list of known fusion cultures in the past (but which have not survived to today), and links to websites concerning these historical cultures that I have been able to locate.
The Contemporary Fusions page contains a list of known fusion cultures in the present (some of which have ancient historical roots), and links to websites concerning these cultures that I have been able to locate.
The Fusion Literature page contains links to sites that focus on particular works of literature that explore fusion situations and events, such as novels, plays, poetry and so on, as well as a bibliography of writings that explore fusion cultures in some way or another.
"Fusion cuisine combines elements of various culinary traditions whilst not fitting specifically into any. The term generally refers to the innovations in many contemporary restaurant cuisines since the 1970s".
